From time to time, we have young puppies and trained older puppies/young adults available for guardian homes. These puppies are usually female but are sometimes male. Guardian homes are a win-win for everyone. The dog is still owned by us and is part of our breeding program, but becomes your pet and a treasured member of your family. When your dog is needed for breeding, she returns to us, then comes back to you. She comes back to us to give birth and raise her puppies until they are weaned, then returns to you again. Each time your girl whelps a litter of puppies, we give you a stipend (or you may choose a puppy back from one litter). Once your girl is done her motherhood career or your boy is done his studding career, we transfer ownership completely to you, and your pup is yours forever.
Basic Guardian Home Requirements
- Own your own home or have permission in your lease to have a dog
- Have no other intact dogs of the opposite gender
- Be willing to bring the dog to us when needed within 24-48 hours notice
- Live within three hours of 30179
- Treat the dog as a valued family pet, providing it with quality food, vet care, training, etc.
- Have your dog groomed on a regular basis by a professional groomer
- Communicate openly and frequently with us and provide photos and updates
- Understand that your dog is also our dog and consult us for any major decisions
